About the role

The Tech Lead (Senior Staff or Principal Engineer) will define and execute the technical strategy for a legal tech platform, leading architecture, engineering standards, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure scalability, performance, and security.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical authority on the team, making architectural decisions, defining best practices, and setting coding standards.
  • Design, implement, and optimize core system architecture for high availability, high-volume processing, and complex data workflows.
  • Partner with senior leaders to align technical initiatives with business goals and strategic direction.
  • Lead the design and development of large-scale projects from conception to delivery.
  • Mentor engineers across levels, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Drive technical innovation through evaluating and implementing new tools, frameworks, and technologies.

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years in software engineering, with at least 3–5 years in technical leadership.
  • Strong track record in designing and implementing complex, scalable architectures for distributed systems.
  • Proven success in guiding large projects and establishing best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Experience in mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
