About the role

Backend-focused Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining APIs, services, and systems at Sardine, with emphasis on highly available backend services, data pipelines, and collaboration with product and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design, create, and maintain robust, efficient, and reliable backend services to meet the platform's evolving needs.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to architect and implement new services from inception to delivery.
  • Contribute to developing new features and capabilities that deliver substantial value to customers.
  • Work with various engineering and product teams to synchronize efforts and deliver cutting-edge solutions.
  • Craft and maintain user-facing technical documentation to enhance understanding and adoption of services.
  • Shape the company’s engineering culture and maintain high engineering standards across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of proven experience as a Software Engineer specializing in web backend development.
  • Proficiency in Golang is a significant advantage.
  • Additional experience in data engineering is highly desirable.
  • Track record of delivering high-quality production services and systems.
  • Customer-centric approach with empathy towards users.
  • Relevant industry experience, particularly in banking or fintech, and domain knowledge in fraud prevention or compliance.
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written).
