About the role

Build the computational workspace where scientists use Chai’s models and agents to design medicines, owning the last mile from model capability to experiments and learnings. Ship across the stack, work directly with scientists and model researchers, and refine core abstractions as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with scientists and Chai’s model researchers to understand their problems and decide what to build.
  • Own the work from the first customer conversation through to a product they depend on and appreciate, going as deep into the science, compute, models, research, and software as the problem requires.
  • Work forward deployed with our customers, ship across the stack, and refine the product and its core abstractions as you learn.

Qualifications

  • We look for engineers who can make sense of messy real-world problems and build simple solutions end to end.
  • Former founders and engineers who have owned substantial products are a particularly good fit.
  • Familiarity with the scientific domain is not required.
  • We value technical depth, product judgment, and a record of building things that are meaningful and useful to people.
