About the role

Senior Platform Engineer at Bitvavo focusing on scalability, performance, and engineering productivity within a cloud-first, Kubernetes-based environment to enable autonomous engineering teams building robust, secure, compliant and scalable systems.

Responsibilities

  • Empower teams to build scalable systems with strict requirements on latency, availability, and/or throughput.
  • Team up with engineering teams to understand their pain points and craft the right solution.
  • Enable teams to fully own their systems by providing them with capabilities to deploy and observe their applications.
  • Leverage infrastructure as code and automation to build reproducible systems across environments.
  • Support teammates by providing constructive feedback, guidance, and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Experience with one or more programming languages (Python, Kotlin, Go).
  • Solid understanding of fundamentals in distributed systems, systems engineering and networking.
  • Fluency in infrastructure as code and automation (e.g., Terraform).
  • Proficiency in container orchestration within a cloud-first environment (Kubernetes).
  • Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder collaboration and decision-making.
  • Extraordinary sense of ownership and accountability.
