About the role

Software Engineer role focused on shaping build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling to improve engineering productivity. Hybrid work in Mountain View, CA with a strong emphasis on multi-language build systems, Bazel, and AI-assisted coding tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve a multi-language build system, improving hermeticity, reproducibility, dependency management, and developer usability.
  • Design and operate CI/CD infrastructure that makes builds and tests faster, more reliable, and more cost-efficient at scale.
  • Diagnose and eliminate sources of CI friction, including flaky tests, slow feedback loops, and difficult local development workflows.
  • Build developer tools that improve onboarding, debugging, code review, and everyday engineering productivity.
  • Lead practical adoption of AI coding assistants and agentic workflows, measuring usage and impact rather than simply introducing new tools.
  • Partner with engineers across the company to identify bottlenecks, prioritize improvements, and demonstrate measurable results.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant full time work experience.
  • Strong software engineering background in Java, Go, Python, or a similar language.
  • Meaningful ownership of build systems, CI/CD infrastructure, or developer productivity tooling. Bazel experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating distributed build or test environments, with familiarity in Kubernetes or cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong debugging skills and a track record of improving engineering workflows.
  • Experience enabling AI developer tools is a plus, particularly when paired with evidence of adoption or productivity impact.
