About the role

Backend Engineer (Infrastructure) at HeyGen focused on designing and deploying scalable core systems and infrastructure to support data, cloud, ML, and product infrastructure, enabling scalable and reliable backend services for visual storytelling platform.

Responsibilities

  • System Development: Design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient foundational systems (Data Infrastructure, Cloud Infrastructure, ML Infrastructure, Product Infrastructure).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product engineers, AI researchers to deliver best performant systems.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor backend systems for performance, errors, and anomalies; implement fixes and improvements.
  • Code Quality: Maintain high code quality through regular code reviews, pair programming, and writing unit and integration tests.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest system technologies and best practices to keep HeyGen at the forefront.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working on scalable and performant systems.
  • Proficiency in python or c++.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong knowledge of API design and development.
