About the role

A role acting as a Language Lead Backup for Korean, responsible for review and quality assurance tasks, supporting linguists, and maintaining standards on key account projects.

Responsibilities

  • Act as intermediary between the client (and third-party reviewers) and Welocalize linguists.
  • Responsible for maintaining overall quality under the 97% fail rate.
  • Carry out daily follow-up of all LQE results, passed and failed.
  • Gather all LQE changes and share with all linguists in the account.
  • Analyze deliverables by linguists, determine issues, and implement improvement actions.
  • Support teams in the review process to maintain the fail rate below 97%.
  • Support linguists in understanding corrections and clarifications with the client.
  • Support linguists in arbitration, questions during production, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Identify challenging products and contents, recommend reallocations.
  • Highlight workload issues and suggest solutions.
  • Collect root cause analysis, corrective/preventive plans, and implement improvements.
  • Create training materials and conduct training sessions.
  • Organize regular discussions with reviewers/LS, document calls, and follow-up.
  • Support in the identification and evaluation of potential new candidates.
  • Utilize CAT tools such as Phrase and Lucid.
  • Perform translation, copy editing, research, and support tasks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience translating and reviewing in relevant subject matter.
  • Proficient in Legal, Marketing, Support, Product, and Service domains.
  • Well-versed in translation & terminology tools.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
  • Native fluency in Korean.
  • Degree in linguistics, translation, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and character restrictions.
  • Ability to communicate the rationale behind translation decisions.
  • Competency in both translation and review processes.
  • Experience with machine translation post-editing.
  • Experience in a multi-vendor scenario is a plus.
