About the role

A freelance linguist role focusing on translation, localization, interpretation, and QA testing in marketing and life sciences, specifically for Oromo language speakers, supporting global clients.

Responsibilities

  • Translate, edit, and review content in the subject matter areas such as investigator-facing, patient-facing, pharmacy material, marketing, help, and UI content.
  • Utilize CAT tools and other technology to support translation and localization processes.
  • Collaborate with project teams on multiple accounts and programs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in translating or copy editing content in relevant subject matter areas.
  • Native level expertise of Oromo with cultural understanding.
  • Professional level of English (US/GB).
  • Familiarity with CAT tools like XTM, Phrase, Trados, Jira, Smartling.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel).
  • Translation degree or equivalent experience: 3 years if degree, 5 years without degree.
