About the role

A freelance remote linguist role specializing in translation, localization, and quality assurance in marketing and life sciences content, with expertise in Somali and English.

Responsibilities

  • Translate, copy edit, and adapt content in marketing, patient-facing, investigator-facing, and pharmacy materials.
  • Use CAT tools like XTM, Phrase, Trados, Jira, Smartling to perform translation and localization tasks.
  • Ensure high-quality linguistic output with attention to cultural nuances.
  • Collaborate with global teams on multiple accounts and projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in translating and copy editing related content.
  • Native level proficiency in Somali, with an understanding of cultural nuances.
  • Professional level understanding of English (US/GB).
  • Experience with CAT tools: XTM, Phrase, Trados, Jira, Smartling.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Desirable: A translation degree or 3+ years of translation experience without a degree, 5+ years without a degree.
