About the role

Senior technical role at Plain focused on building the next generation of support tooling, shaping product direction, and delivering end-to-end features in a hybrid London-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Help set product direction. You’ll contribute to both the technical architecture and the roadmap, balancing customer feedback with long-term product health.
  • Ship features end to end. You’ll scope, build, and launch product features that directly solve customer problems.
  • Shape our backend architecture. You’ll tackle complex challenges, from data modeling to high-performance reporting, and set the standard for how we build across the company.
  • Create a stellar developer experience. From data pipelines to APIs, ensure Plain is great to use and to build on.

Qualifications

  • Thrive in early ideation stages and balance speed with long-term infrastructure investment.
  • Impact-driven with focus on end-user experience over code aesthetics.
  • Proven track record at product-led companies, ideally in B2B SaaS.
  • Autonomous and able to prioritize workload; skilled at choosing shortcuts vs. investing in infrastructure.
  • Experience with distributed, serverless systems and web apps with high quality and performance bar.
  • Comfortable in architectural discussions and customer conversations; quick to learn new technologies independently.
