About the role

Senior Business Scientist leading projects for international clients, driving client value, and developing junior team members within Ekimetrics' APAC Shanghai office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead challenging projects with international blue-chip clients across high-profile presentations to senior clients
  • Work in teams of 3 to 6 Business Scientists on 2 to 3 projects simultaneously
  • Drive high client value and broaden relationships at senior levels to generate new business opportunities
  • Lead projects from discovery meetings to final recommendations, gather/analyze data, build statistical models, translate insights into strategic recommendations, and deliver results as a persuasive story
  • Develop more junior team members to perform high-impact work
  • Drive development initiatives and new thought-leadership, transfer knowledge to juniors, and enhance Ekimetrics reputation in Asia
  • Team Management: identify actions to improve engagements, retain top performers, sponsor diverse talent
  • Business Operator: design/scope new projects, ensure high client satisfaction and timely issue resolution, verify achievable client business cases, present actionable findings to drive adoption, drive client retention and new opportunities
  • Ekimetrics Life: contribute to Thought-Leadership, Knowledge Management, Recruitment, Culture, Gender Balance and Diversity, and ML/AI innovation in the office

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, operations research or MBA (preferred)
  • 4+ years in Data Analysis / Modelling / Advanced Analytics in a business setting (client-facing consulting preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of statistics/applied mathematics, experience with modelling/optimization, and advanced analytics methodologies
  • Experience with statistical software such as R, Python
  • Excellent communication skills translating technical findings into plain language insights
  • Strong marketing and media strategy knowledge for CMOs
  • Ability to develop client relationships at senior levels across industries
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, capable of developing younger talent, and managing projects
