About the role

Manager role in Shanghai leading data science consultants, focusing on developing new accounts, delivering analytics projects, leading operations and HR, and driving business growth in APAC with a strong emphasis on China client engagement and strategic thought leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Contributions & Ekimetrics Growth: participate in APAC entity development, operations, P&L, investment strategy, staffing, and culture ambassador; drive innovation and expand China market capabilities; contribute expertise to client solutions.
  • Account Steering & Delivery: own client relationships for managed accounts; lead complex projects and multi-account oversight; ensure client satisfaction and drive account growth and profitability in China.
  • People Management & Development: lead HR planning, recruit and develop staff, improve engagement, train consultants, and collaborate on global people processes.
  • Business Development: drive Go-To-Market in China, accelerate footprint, identify up-sell/cross-sell opportunities, lead sales efforts (RFPs, pitches), and act as a company ambassador through thought leadership and events.
  • Eki Life: contribute to Thought Leadership, Knowledge Management, Recruitment, Culture, Diversity, and build Data Engineering/Architecture capabilities; embody Ekimetrics values.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years in Data Science and Consulting
  • Experience with senior stakeholders and strategy in analytics and data transformation in China
  • Master’s degree in statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, operations research, or MBA (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Python or R
  • Fluency in Putonghua and English; additional Asian languages a bonus
  • Ability to coach and lead a team, grow talent, and manage performance
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical findings into business insights
  • Autonomous, self-motivated, team-oriented, and comfortable in a small, fast-growing team
  • Experience in business & strategy assignments to create value and innovative customer engagements
  • Project management and delivery expertise
