About the role

Legal team facilitates legal risk and compliance management, ensuring conformity with laws and regulations, and managing contractual matters for Paytm's business verticals.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing, red-lining, negotiating, and finalizing legal documents such as Banking Alliances, Corporate PSA’s, promotional agreements, Escrow agreements, Marketing agreements, Acquiring agreements, promotions, Banking referrals, Distribution contracts, EDC Contracts, Letters, Proposals, RFPs, etc.
  • Resolve contractual issues arising with clients, partners, service providers, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project implementation across business verticals.
  • Understand and analyze business requirements, identify issues, and propose/implement solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to internal frameworks, mandates, and processes.
  • Manage end-to-end legal aspects of assigned transactions; corporate advisory and viability assessments of new business models under relevant laws.
  • Assess business processes and new product proposals for legal compliance, risks, and issues, providing solutions and support.
  • Identify risks in ongoing legal agreements, evaluate, and assist in modifying templates and processes for compliance with applicable laws.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in end-to-end contract management.
  • Experience in a law firm or in-house legal team, preferably within Fintech/Banking/Lending sectors.
  • Strong legal acumen and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Word/MS Office.
  • Good drafting skills and attention to detail.
  • Legal degree from a top-tier institute (e.g., National Law Schools, DU, ILS, Symbiosis) is preferred.
