About the role

Seeking a hands-on senior design leader to solve complex problems, elevate craft standards, and influence design systems, primarily focused on creating scalable, high-quality product experiences in India’s leading mobile payments company.

Responsibilities

  • Solve Complex, Ambiguous Problems: Lead design in critical product areas, breaking down complexity into elegant, scalable solutions.
  • Set the Benchmark: Deliver exemplary design work that defines the standard of craft across the design org.
  • Hands-on Craft Leadership: Stay deeply involved in execution, producing high-impact design work while inspiring peers through example.
  • Drive Ownership: Take full accountability for outcomes — from problem framing to polished, system-ready solutions.
  • Elevate Team Craft: Mentor and guide designers, raising the bar in problem solving, product thinking, and execution quality.
  • Shape Systems & Frameworks: Extend and influence design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across product surfaces.
  • Influence at Scale: Clearly articulate design rationale to senior stakeholders, shaping decisions and aligning cross-functional teams.
  • Self-Initiate: Identify opportunities proactively and lead design explorations without waiting for direction.

Qualifications

  • 6–9 years of product design experience with a track record of solving complex, high-scale challenges.
  • Portfolio demonstrating mastery in craft and problem solving — interaction depth, visual polish, and systems thinking.
  • Strong ability to translate ambiguity into clarity and deliver north-star experiences.
  • Recognized as a go-to problem solver for complex design challenges.
  • Experience mentoring mid-to-senior designers and driving org-wide uplift in craft.
  • Strong product sense, balancing user needs, business impact, and technical feasibility.
