About the role

The Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure and transformations that support high-quality insights, bridging data engineering and analytics, and ensuring efficient, reliable data operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ELT/ETL workflows in AWS.
  • Develop and optimize dbt models for data transformation.
  • Orchestrate workflows using Apache Airflow (MWAA).
  • Partner with Data Engineering to align data architecture.
  • Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance and quality.
  • Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to deliver governed datasets.
  • Build and maintain Power BI data models.
  • Ensure data models and transformations are documented, version-controlled, and tested in CI/CD workflows.
  • Support data quality and governance initiatives.
  • Participate in agile planning and documentation using Jira and Confluence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years in data engineering or analytics engineering.
  • Proficiency in SQL and dbt.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services like Redshift, S3, Lambda, Glue.
  • Experience with Airflow for workflow management.
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD workflows.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ELT principles.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Excellent communication skills.
