About the role

Lead the technical foundation and growth architecture of the Paytm Gold business, focusing on strategy, data analytics, system security, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Define the technical and analytical strategy for the gold platform, focusing on business impact, regulatory compliance, and resilience.
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for platform features influencing growth metrics such as conversion, retention, and frequency.
  • Translate complex business questions into data models and reporting infrastructure, partnering with data engineering.
  • Author technical specifications, architecture design documents, and API contracts to align engineering and business strategy.
  • Own and improve core gold systems including pricing, settlement, ledger, and reconciliation, emphasizing automation and operational leverage.
  • Act as the primary strategic partner to engineering, finance, compliance, legal, and external partners to ensure alignment.
  • Lead technical backlog prioritization, sprint planning, release criteria, and reduction of technical debt.
  • Ensure platform features and backend systems comply with regulatory, audit, and financial risk standards, providing documentation and controls.
  • Mentor junior team members on technical rigor, data-driven decision-making, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of experience in data-driven growth or platform strategy roles in high-growth, regulated environments.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL for complex data analysis.
  • Experience with analytics tools like Python/R and visualization tools such as Tableau/Looker.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, cloud infrastructure, and financial system design.
  • Experience in payments, e-commerce, or complex financial services.
  • Exceptional communication skills for articulating technical and analytical findings to diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record of setting data-backed goals and driving significant P&L impact.
