About the role

Software Engineer, Data Infra at Dyna Robotics focuses on building interactive data systems and pipelines that connect raw multimodal sensor streams to production-ready ML models, enabling human-in-the-loop workflows and scalable ML research tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Interactive Data Systems: Architect engines and interfaces that unify raw robot logs, video, and 3D sensor data, enabling human-in-the-loop workflows from episode annotation to analyzing manual interventions.
  • Signal Extraction & Geometry: Design and implement algorithms to extract structured signals (trajectories, events, 3D poses) from raw captures.
  • Evaluation & Benchmarking: Build high-performance tools to compare model-driven motion against human-captured data to quantify model progress across tasks.
  • Scalable ML Pipelines: Build and operate distributed data pipelines (Python, GCP/AWS, Kubernetes) for ingestion, transformation, and validation of terabytes of multimodal data.
  • Observability & Debugging: Develop visualization tools to interpret complex model behaviors and sensor data, accelerating data-to-model cycles.
  • Startup Fluidity: Collaborate across ML, Robotics, and Product teams; help define the data team's roadmap in an early-stage environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software experience, preferably with data-intensive or human-in-the-loop platforms.
  • Proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas) and solid backend architecture knowledge.
  • Experience with React/TypeScript is a major plus for building internal observability tools.
  • Strong mathematical core in algorithms and geometric calculations (coordinate transformations, 3D spatial reasoning).
  • Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Redis) and cloud-native infrastructure (GCP/AWS).
  • Problem-solving ability to debug real-world data issues from sensor drift to pipeline bottlenecks.
