About the role
Dyna Robotics seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own and build the fleet connectivity and network-performance stack for remote teleoperation and fleet deployment, ensuring low-latency, reliable, self-healing connectivity across diverse real-world networks.
Responsibilities
- Own network performance for remote teleoperation. Measure and minimize end-to-end latency and jitter, tune video and control streams, and ensure sessions degrade gracefully instead of failing under poor link conditions.
- Build the fleet connectivity stack. Develop monitoring, diagnostics, and automated failover software to keep robot connections healthy in production.
- Own the network side of site bring-up. Build tooling to assess customer networks before arrival and configure failover, QoS, and VPN for the site.
- Design connectivity for real-world chaos: warehouse WiFi dead zones, cellular failover, and VPN-gated corporate networks with fixed rules.
- Diagnose field network issues you don’t control, then implement fixes to prevent recurrence.
- Make the office and demo network rock-solid to avoid drops during live demos.
- Partner with engineers and researchers to support training-data upload and live model debugging.
- Be the go-to person when connectivity is on the line during demos or field incidents.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience debugging real-world networks: WiFi/RF troubleshooting and packet-level diagnostics (Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf)
- Deep understanding of TCP, UDP, and their behavior on lossy, high-jitter links; strong Linux networking skills (routing, tc-based traffic shaping, firewalling, VPNs such as WireGuard)
- Track record of shipping production-quality software in C++, Rust, or Python
- Comfort working in the field and communicating under pressure, translating failures into fixes
- Degree in CS, EE, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
