About the role

Design, develop, and maintain Android applications for Paytm's Android POS devices, collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring code quality through testing and performance improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and code features for the Android application as per specifications provided by Product and Design teams.
  • Write unit tests for all features.
  • Work closely with Backend, Design and Product Management teams to understand feature details.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and reliability.
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in building apps for the Android platform.
  • Good understanding of Kotlin & Java, Dagger 2, MVVM architecture, Live data, data binding, RxJava2, Room DB, Coroutines.
  • Good understanding of Android application architecture and design.
  • Good understanding of memory management, network interaction, debugging, concurrency and multi-threading in Android.
  • Understanding of complete application development, continuous integration & testing and app distribution infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
  • Strong experience of Data Structures, algorithms and Oops concepts.
  • Prior work experience in Payments Application development is a plus.
