About the role

Ensures high-quality Vietnamese-language deliverables by managing translation, copy-editing, and coordinating with freelancers and clients, while maintaining language resources and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Performing copy-editing tasks on assigned projects or accounts
  • Performing on-demand translation tasks
  • Performing lead linguist role on assigned accounts
  • Taking ownership of translations managed internally or externally for target language
  • Preparing, managing, and maintaining language materials—such as glossaries, style guides, and work instructions
  • Managing project-related queries
  • Ensuring good interaction among team members and resolving terminology and language questions
  • Coordinating with freelancers, agencies, and internal linguists on projects or accounts
  • Testing and qualifying new freelancers and vendors
  • Developing and training internal linguists and freelancers in line with standards
  • Interacting with clients on linguistic matters
  • Participating in process development and proposing improvements
  • Meeting or exceeding KPIs related to productivity, delivery, and quality
  • Achieving goals set by the Team Manager

Qualifications

  • University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience (including at least two years of full-time professional translation or a minimum of five years of full-time professional experience in translation)
  • Native-level proficiency in Vietnamese
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing
  • 5+ years of experience in linguistic review and copy-editing
  • Thorough understanding of the localization process
  • Excellent knowledge of terminology across relevant subject areas (Marketing, Legal, UI, Customer Service)
  • Experience as a subject-matter expert in assigned content specialties and processes
  • Proficiency with CAT tools like XTM, SDL Trados Studio, and issue-tracking tools like JIRA
  • Proficiency with standard software (Windows, Office applications)
  • Strong ability to learn new tools quickly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness and ability to train others
  • Capable of working under tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective presentation and communication skills with groups and clients
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment
