About the role

PhD-level research internship in the Model Team focused on foundational models for agentic AI, with emphasis on training techniques, instruction following, tool use, and interaction with dynamic environments using large-scale RL and reward modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to research and development of foundational models (LLMs and VLMs) for agentic AI.
  • Investigate post-training & reinforcement learning, off-policy robustness, self-verification and learning from feedback, synthetic data generation at scale, efficient reasoning, and world modelling & environment generation.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to translate research into practical solutions and enhance model capabilities for agent applications.
  • Work on training methods to optimize model performance given inference costs and engage with real-world environments via large-scale RL.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a PhD (ideally final year) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Publications in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ACL, EMNLP, ICCV, CoRL).
  • Strong research and/or research engineering experience at leading ML research labs.
