About the role

Senior Recruiter at January responsible for end-to-end recruiting across engineering, product, operations, and business, delivering high-quality hires at velocity while maintaining a high bar and partnering with hiring managers.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver hires at velocity. Own 6-8 concurrent searches and hit growth targets without lowering the bar. Close by handling the real objection, not the one said out loud.
  • Find talent. Source from high-bar organizations and engage passive candidates. Read quality from limited signal, and differentiate strong from merely good before formal interviews.
  • Build recruiting that compounds. Diagnose pipeline breakdowns from funnel data. Run experiments that prove value before scaling. Leave behind playbooks others can run without you.
  • Turn hiring managers into partners. Coach them to hold the bar without being asked. Activate them as a sourcing channel. Share outcomes and accountability.
  • Hold the bar under pressure. Reject weak candidates when pipeline is thin and timeline tight. Defend the no with evidence, specific gap, not generic.
  • Curiosity as your core instrument. Ask sharp questions to uncover what a candidate truly wants and to diagnose funnel issues before acting.
  • An eye for what others miss. Read beyond credentials to determine what made a hire great beyond where they worked or studied.
  • Quality over speed. Hold the line under timeline pressure and name specific gaps.
  • A pitch that lands. Make a strong candidate who has never heard of January want in.
  • The truth, early. Flag troubled searches with data before being forced to act.
  • Judgment under constraint. Protect priority searches when capacity is tight.
  • A system you make better. Leave behind playbooks and experiments others can run.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in a startup or tech company, with at least 3 years owning technical recruiting pipelines.
