About the role

A linguist responsible for quality control, translation, and team coordination in localization projects, specifically for Norwegian language.

Performing copy-edit tasks on assigned projects or accounts
Performing on-demand translation tasks
Performing lead support on assigned projects or accounts
Managing and maintaining language materials (glossaries, Style Guides, work instructions)
Managing project-related queries
Ensuring good interaction among team members and resolving terminology/language questions
Testing and qualifying new freelancers and vendors
Developing and training internal linguists and external partners
Interacting with clients on linguistic matters
Participating in process development
Meeting or exceeding KPIs in productivity, on-time delivery, and quality
Achieving team goals

University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent work experience
Native-level fluency in Norwegian
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
4+ years of translation/localization/editing or content writing experience
2+ years of review experience
Experience as a translator in Mobile Apps, Search Engines, IT Consumer products, Entertainment, Marketing, Software UI, Websites
Excellent knowledge of terminology in IT consumer products, social media, entertainment
Thorough understanding of localization process
Good knowledge of Windows and Office applications
Proficiency with CAT tools like XTM, SDL Studio, and query management tools like JIRA
Ability to learn new localization tools quickly
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Ability to give constructive feedback and present information clearly
Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions
Willingness to train and share knowledge
Effective communication with clients and team members
Experience working in a virtual team environment
