About the role

Seeking detail-oriented transcribers proficient in Chinese (Mandarin) to transcribe audio recordings with accuracy, add timestamps, and metadata remotely. Flexible hours, freelance role.

Responsibilities

  • Listen to audio recordings in the target language and transcribe content with a high level of accuracy.
  • Add timestamps to transcriptions to ensure alignment with the audio.
  • Tag recordings with emotions, context, and other relevant metadata to enhance project deliverables.
  • Ensure that transcriptions are culturally relevant and reflect the intended tone and meaning of the recordings.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure consistency and quality across all transcriptions.
  • Meet project deadlines and adhere to specific transcription guidelines and formatting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Native or professional proficiency (C1/C2 level) in Chinese (Mandarin) and strong English proficiency.
  • Prior experience in transcription, translation, or linguistic projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to understand and differentiate regional dialects, emotions, and contextual cues in audio recordings.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to deliver error-free transcriptions.
  • Familiarity with transcription tools/software and the ability to work with timestamps and tagging.
  • Availability to commit to deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
