About the role
Senior People Business Partner at Baseten, a strategic, high-impact role embedded with managers to shape org design, talent development, performance practices, and change management during a phase of growth.
Responsibilities
- Strategic partnership to leadership: serve as trusted people partner, surface systemic issues and opportunities, provide data-driven org design and succession insights, build management capacity, collaborate on headcount planning, support change management.
- Performance and talent management: drive high-performance culture, manage high-stakes people matters, advise on role architecture and promotion readiness, collaborate with Compensation on salary benchmarking and equity strategy, partner with People Operations on lifecycle execution, work with Workplace Experience to support office needs.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of progressive People Business Partner experience supporting all management levels across functions.
- Experience supporting 400+ employee organizations through rapid growth with expertise in org design, performance management, talent strategy, and leadership development.
- Strong business acumen and ability to build credibility with functions you support.
- Proven ability to navigate high-stakes people decisions with speed and sound judgment in risk-aware contexts.
- Analytical, first-principles thinker who uses data to diagnose root causes and build scalable processes.
- Thrives in high-growth environments with ownership, pace, and ambiguity; bias toward execution and repeatable systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to balance nuance with directness.
- Ability to work in-person 3+ days per week in San Francisco.
