About the role

This role involves managing translation and copy-editing tasks, ensuring high-quality linguistic deliverables for assigned projects or accounts, coordinating with freelancers and agencies, maintaining language resources, resolving terminology queries, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to enhance workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Managing translation and copy-editing tasks for projects or accounts.
  • Coordinating with freelancers and agencies.
  • Maintaining language resources such as glossaries, style guides, and work instructions.
  • Resolving terminology queries and ensuring quality standards.
  • Supporting team efforts through editing, error arbitration, and quality initiatives.
  • Taking ownership of deliverables from internal or external translations.
  • Testing and qualifying new freelancers and vendors.
  • Developing and training internal linguists and freelancers.
  • Interacting with clients on linguistic matters.
  • Proposing and implementing process improvements.
  • Meeting or exceeding KPIs related to productivity, delivery, and quality.
  • Achieving team goals.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of patent translation experience in Electricity, Computer Science, Chemistry, or Biology.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Native fluency in Latin American Spanish.
  • 8+ years of experience in translation/localization/editing or content writing.
  • 5+ years of review experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the localization process.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant terminology.
  • Experience working in an IP law firm and patent knowledge is a plus.
