About the role

Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack (Remote Canada) within Affirm's Consumer Growth Experience Engineering (CGX) team, focusing on end-to-end consumer experiences, experimentation, and scalable tooling to drive growth and value.

Responsibilities

  • Owning and delivering quarterly goals for the team and leading engineers through ambiguity
  • Collaborating with product management, design, and analytics across the product development lifecycle
  • Proactively identifying and solving project, process, technology, or business issues
  • Supporting operations and availability of the team’s artifacts, monitoring metrics, and participating in on-call efforts
  • Fostering a culture of quality and ownership through coding/design standards and advocacy
  • Developing team talent through feedback and leading by example

Qualifications

  • Experience leading significant mobile initiatives (React Native or native), defining architecture, coordinating cross-functional launches, and ensuring high production reliability
  • Experience across React Native and native boundaries (Swift/Kotlin), debugging platform-specific issues, and improving tooling, CI/CD, and release processes for mobile apps
  • Experience implementing experimentation, feature flagging, and analytics instrumentation in mobile apps with safe rollouts and measurable impact
  • Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Total 4+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale with Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes
  • Ability to define a technical plan for delivering significant features or components with elegant, extensible design and high-quality code
  • Track record of making significant changes in large codebases safely
  • Demonstrated ownership of personal and professional growth through proactive feedback
  • Strong verbal and written communication for collaborating with a global engineering team
  • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field if no degree
  • Remote-friendly with Canada-based location requirement and eligibility for local compensation considerations
