Responsibilities

  • Solve a scaling bottleneck in a critical service
  • Deploy a new feature to production, progressively rolling it out with feature flags
  • Investigate and fix a production issue from a service your team owns
  • Design a way to scale up a service for more traffic
  • With your team, plan the most important projects to work on next

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in one or more programming languages
  • Value code simplicity and performance
  • Ability to design architecture to solve problems at high scale
  • BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience
  • Interest in working in a fast, high-growth startup environment that respects engineers and customers
  • Excitement about leveraging AI tools to enhance coding and problem solving; experience using AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows
  • Ability to design AI Backend systems with awareness of quality, cost, and latency tradeoffs
  • Bonus: motivation to push AI-enabled software engineering practices and products
