About the role

The Translator role is central to Welocalize’s success in software localization and technical translation, focusing on bringing IT products to a global audience with high-quality multilingual content and supporting NLP data transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform translations in various translation tools for assigned clients and projects
  • Translate different content types, e.g., marketing, help documentation, UI, or regulated content
  • Support the team with copy-edit tasks on selected content
  • Master standard CAT tools and internal tools used for translation work
  • Follow established translation processes and client style guides
  • Improve based on corrections from senior team members and client reviewers
  • Track personal error statistics and work on weak spots
  • Participate in internal and client-organized training sessions
  • Participate in error arbitration process
  • Meet KPIs related to productivity, on-time delivery, and quality
  • Attend internal quality meetings and client calls to ensure standards are met
  • Analyze own gaps and seek assistance from senior members
  • Meet goals set by the team manager

Qualifications

  • University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent
  • Native fluency in Irish Gaelic and English, both written and spoken
  • 0-2 years of experience in translation or creating easy-to-read texts
  • Passion for language and technology
  • Good experience with Windows and Office applications
  • Effective communication skills with managers, clients, and colleagues
  • Problem-solving skills in standard and variable situations
  • Ability to interpret various instructions in multiple formats
  • Fast learner, motivated, versatile
  • Ability to work remotely in a team
  • IT knowledge
