About the role

Forward Deployed Engineer at Factory responsible for leading high-impact customer implementations, migrations, and integration of Factory into customer environments, with on-site engagement and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end implementation and integration of Factory into customer engineering environments, design robust workflows and build long-term partnerships
  • Serve as the primary technical lead on customer engagements; on-site with customers regularly to drive adoption and solve engineering problems
  • Deliver large-scale migrations, modernization and refactoring work in complex production systems, owning the technical outcome with the customer
  • Respond quickly to customer needs, including integrating with new systems, fixing critical issues in unfamiliar codebases, or finding new ways to use Factory for customers' problems
  • Learn customers' use cases deeply, build tooling and documentation they need to grow at scale
  • Stay current on software development practices, tools and technologies to keep Factory at the forefront of AI in engineering

Qualifications

  • 4–10 years of engineering experience, ideally at companies deploying complex technical products into demanding customer environments
  • Experience delivering migrations, refactors or similar changes in complex production systems in a customer-facing role (major plus)
  • Demonstrable ability to quickly grasp new technologies, programming languages, and software development practices; broad tech stack proficiency
  • Strong problem-solving abilities; quick in diagnosing, debugging, and resolving technical challenges in customer-facing settings
  • Excellent communication skills and a track record of building strong relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Intrinsic motivation to fix customer problems and ensure deployments succeed
  • Hunger to learn and improve; proactive in a fast-moving startup environment
  • Deep expertise in industries such as financial services, healthcare, or public sector is a plus (generalists and specialists welcome)
