About the role

Software Engineer role at Materra focusing on C++ systems that communicate with hardware sensors, data integration, and AI-driven insights in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and improve performant C++ systems that process and organize data from multiple hardware sources
  • Design, implement, and improve algorithms for deriving insights on chemical data using a broad array of state-of-the-art deep learning methods
  • Rapidly develop system prototypes to evaluate feasibility
  • Strong end-to-end ownership of the software infrastructure
  • Build scalable data pipelines for training AI
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams of engineers, scientists, and domain experts
  • Work with collaborators across X and Alphabet (e.g. Google, DeepMind, Cloud, , etc.) to apply, modify, and develop new ideas, techniques, algorithms, and tools as needed.

Qualifications

  • MS/PhD in Computer Science or demonstrable practical experience in the field
  • 3-5 years experience writing software that interacts with a variety of asynchronous hardware sensors
  • Experience building data management platforms in C++
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of deep learning model building, validation, and optimization
  • Experience building and managing scalable data pipelines and backend integrations
  • Fluency with C++, Python, and Linux
