About the role

Power trading role at Octopus Energy Trading, a global, hybrid, full-time position focused on developing value from power markets, managing exposure, and contributing to in-house analytics, data pipelines, and flexible assets such as batteries and EVs.

Responsibilities

  • Creating value from Power markets, trading the volatility, and managing our exposure.
  • Working on the high-level trading approach, supporting in the evolving design and improvement of our in-house analytical tools.
  • Data team involvement in building data pipelines and using forecasts (demand, renewables, transmission system fundamentals) focused on the GB intraday power market.
  • Contributing to the Battery Team initiatives to maximise impact of flexible assets across electricity markets and grid services.
  • Collaborating with leaders who are close to the work and the customer, driving simpler, faster solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience in power trading businesses (industrial experience preferred).
