About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The role focuses on managing data centers, leading engineering and operations teams, optimizing processes, and maintaining safety and performance while collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance.
  • Maintaining existing co-located and in-house Data Centres
  • Helping build and bring online new Data Centres
  • Constantly improving all our processes and procedures
  • Assisting & managing relationships with external vendors & contractors
  • Liaising with internal teams & management groups
  • Ensuring we adhere to and exceed local Health & Safety standards in all our Data Centres
  • Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of our Data Centres and utilising those metrics to drive positive changes
  • Assisting in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc.

Qualifications

  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience in data center engineering or operations
  • Experience in people management and team development
  • Experience managing complex and fast-moving issues
  • Experience analyzing metrics to drive business improvements
  • Experience with Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques (preferred)
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to drive process and system improvements (preferred)
