About the role

SDE II role focused on autonomous development of scalable edge Core-Services for EC2 Edge, spanning full software lifecycle in a large distributed environment. Emphasizes designing, building, testing, deploying, operating, and documenting features for Edge devices from order fulfilment to end-of-life, with mentoring and permanent root-cause fixes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market
  • Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry at incredible scale and speed
  • Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems
  • Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality, maintainable code with comprehensive documentation
  • Mentor and coach team members on software engineering best practices
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for production issues

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
