About the role

Staff Software Engineer on the Core Platform team focused on architectural evolution to integrate Xometry’s AI and DFM/IQE capabilities within partner ecosystems, enabling zero-latency feedback and one-click procurement without leaving the customer’s primary enterprise design environment.

Responsibilities

  • Software Development and Technical Craft: design high-performance solutions, extend beyond a single org, set engineering standards for embedding Xometry-AI into external PLM environments, ensure extensible, scalable architecture with enterprise SLIs/SLOs.
  • AI Fluency: integrate production ML pipelines into the application layer, optimize model serving and real-time geometry analysis, mentor engineers on AI tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and reduce toil.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: address data gravity and security challenges, establish formal networks between partner and Xometry engineering groups, develop ring-fenced data governance where part files stay within partner networks.
  • Scope and Impact: establish strategic direction and lead execution of core integration, drive edge via DFM and IQE AI engines integration.
  • Collaboration and Communication: facilitate technical discourse across Xometry, guide risk/reward conversations with senior leadership, champion cross-functional development across marketplace and data science teams.
  • Operational Excellence: define reliability and security standards for enterprise deployments (partner-hosted or Xometry-hosted), ensure multi-tenant management.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of professional software development experience, with a history of scaling complex platforms.
  • Expert-level mastery of Python, AWS infrastructure, and modern frontend frameworks (React/NextJS) for complex enterprise apps.
  • Proven experience shaping technical direction across multiple teams and establishing engineering patterns.
  • Track record of securing endorsement for 6-12 month initiatives and driving them to production deployment.
  • Ability to influence senior leadership and external partners on technical strategy and long-term technology investments.
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
