About the role

Senior Legal Counsel for Octopus Energy Germany in Munich, focusing on closely supporting the Head of Legal DE, drafting and negotiating contracts, developing German legal structures, and advising on diverse legal matters within the German Octopus Energy entities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Legal DE across different business areas
  • Create, review and negotiate national and international contracts, especially in energy and distribution partnerships
  • Develop and optimize own terms and conditions (AGB) and compliant contract templates
  • Advise internal stakeholders on a range of legal questions
  • Support the build-out and development of legal structures within the German Octopus Energy companies

Qualifications

  • Law degree with Wirtschaftsrecht (LL.M.) or first/second state exam
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in German and European private economic law (e.g., BGB, HGB)
  • Experience in the energy sector is advantageous
  • T-shaped: broad expertise in multiple legal areas is advantageous
  • High degree of self-responsibility and ability to drive tasks independently
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German and English; additional European languages are a plus
  • Problem-solver who thinks outside conventional patterns
