About the role

QA Survey Technicians ensure the Mach9 platform aligns with real surveying and engineering practices by validating feature extraction, stress-testing workflows with real-world datasets, and providing actionable feedback to product and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • QA new features against real-world LiDAR and mobile mapping datasets
  • Identify extraction errors, edge cases, and workflow friction before they reach customers
  • Provide structured, specific feedback to engineering and product teams
  • Create screen recordings and narrated walkthroughs for tutorials, marketing, and demos
  • Build repeatable QA checklists and testing workflows
  • Act as the in-house authority on how surveyors and engineers actually work

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with surveying, drafting, or CAD (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar)
  • Expert knowledge of feature extraction, geometry, and infrastructure workflows
  • Sharp eye for detail -- you notice when a curb line is off or a classification is wrong
  • Comfort explaining technical workflows
  • Able to work onsite in San Francisco
