About the role

AWS Managed Operations role focused on the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) to build, operate, and evolve high-availability AWS services for EU customers, with on-call responsibilities and ongoing improvements to availability, reliability, latency, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee ongoing operations and expansion of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC); collaborate with global AWS teams; influence evolution of AWS services and technology.
  • Review operational health of services, identify anomalies, and craft actionable bug reports to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Provide constructive feedback on change management documents and address operational backlog.
  • Develop and test scripts to enhance workflows; contribute to onboarding and knowledge sharing about ESC with service teams.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations to resolve incidents and ensure system resilience and fault tolerance.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Candidate must be a national of an EU member state and reside in the EU to operate the ESC
  • Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting, or networking administration and troubleshooting
  • Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rota.
