About the role

ECAD Tools Application Engineer for Amazon Leo project (Kuiper) responsible for providing and maintaining stable ECAD tools and databases to support electrical engineering design, layout, and simulation for a low Earth orbit satellite constellation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a stable, reliable set of ECAD tools and database management for electrical engineering design, layout, and simulation engineers.
  • Anticipate tool needs, support users, and develop processes to enable rapid development of a leading-edge satellite constellation.
  • Solve day-to-day tool problems, lay foundation for future infrastructure, and keep tools at peak performance.
  • Work with end users to restore project progress, create proposals and documentation for infrastructure needs, automate processes to streamline development, and research new tools or technologies to increase design rigor and productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline or equivalent
  • 3+ years as an Application Engineer for CAD tools (Mentor Xpedition, Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer)
  • 3+ years with frontend (design tools) and backend (ECAD library/design database, server infrastructure)
  • 3+ years Enterprise Tool administration experience (debugging, installation, configuration)
  • 3+ years developing and documenting engineering processes related to ECAD tools and activities
