Injury Prevention Specialist (IPS) leads onsite injury prevention and proactive safety at an Amazon Fulfillment Center, focusing on ergonomic training, data-driven prevention strategies, and wellness education to improve movement techniques and reduce injuries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead onsite injury prevention and proactive safety initiatives within the local WHS team
  • Drive injury prevention through advanced data analysis and evidence-based solutions
  • Design and implement targeted ergonomic interventions based on risk assessments and injury trends
  • Conduct comprehensive workplace evaluations to identify and eliminate hazards
  • Translate injury data into actionable strategies to protect associates and optimize processes
  • Develop and deliver engaging ergonomic education and training for associates
  • Partner with operations teams to integrate prevention strategies into daily workflows
  • Foster sustainable behavior change through personalized coaching and positive reinforcement
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently move/adjust posture including pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching
  • Stand/walk for up to 12 hours; work in varying noise levels and environments with variable temperatures
  • Possibly climb stairs where applicable and support emergency response as needed
  • Obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification if not already held within 3 weeks of start date

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC or equivalent State Certification)
  • Valid card for First Aid, CPR, and AED (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital recordkeeping
