About the role

Applied Scientist role focused on research, design, and development of AI technologies for personalization within Amazon’s Personalization organization, leveraging large-scale datasets, ML techniques, and collaboration with scientists, engineers, and product partners to build and launch personalized recommendations and related features.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the research, design, and development of new AI technologies for personalization.
  • Adopt or invent new machine learning and analytical techniques in the realm of recommendations and large language models.
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product partners locally and abroad.
  • Invent, experiment with, and launch new features, products and systems.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving
  • PhD in CS/EE or related field, or MSc and 5+ years of applied research experience
  • Excellent coding and design skills, proficiency with programming languages such as Java or Python
  • Several publications at top-tier peer-reviewed research conferences or journals
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
