About the role

The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for delivering best practice systems and resolving problems on data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure, performing hands-on work, and contributing to safety, standardization, and operational excellence within a specific AWS data center location.

Responsibilities

  • Setting and maintaining the highest standards for safety and promoting a world-class safety culture in all operational procedures
  • Driving continuous improvement of infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, and delivering performance against metrics
  • Enabling the operations organization to deliver 100% up-time on all customer supporting infrastructure
  • Collaborating with internal & external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for AWS customers
  • Ensuring preventive maintenance of site-critical facility infrastructure is planned and executed per AWS procedures
  • In charge of facility monitoring & supervision (via BMS, PMS, Walkthrough, etc.)
  • Participating in the delivery of build-out and retrofit of Data Center infrastructure
  • Ensuring organizational capability to react to potential customer-impacting events on electrical or mechanical infrastructure
  • Reviewing incident reports, documenting trend summaries, and providing updates and recommended actions to management
  • Drafting, updating & maintaining method statements, SOPs, emergency procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and all technical documentation pertaining to DCEO

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
  • National of an EU member state
