About the role

Founding Recruiting Lead to build Mach9's talent function from scratch, owning full-cycle recruiting across technical and non-technical roles, shaping strategy, processes, and recruiting brand to attract and close exceptional talent.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting across technical and non-technical roles: Sourcing, coordinating, and closing.
  • Own the candidate experience end-to-end: Every touchpoint, every piece of feedback, every offer call; ensure positive candidate experience.
  • Build the recruiting infrastructure from scratch: ATS, interview rubrics, comp calibration, hiring manager alignment, and continuous improvement as the company grows.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers: Calibrate needs, design interview loops that test the right things.
  • Track the data that matters: Passthrough rates, time-to-fill, offer acceptance rates; use insights to make decisions.
  • Own our recruiting brand: Job descriptions, external presence, and storytelling about the company's mission and impact.
  • Own recruiting strategy alongside the founders: Prioritize roles, shape team composition, and plan hiring decisions for future impact.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of full-cycle recruiting experience; technical recruiting background is a strong plus, and at least one startup stint
  • Comfortable with modern recruiting tools (ATS platforms like Ashby, sourcing tools, LinkedIn Recruiter)
  • Builds relationships quickly across all levels (candidates, hiring managers, founders) and adjusts communication style accordingly
  • Creative sourcer who finds candidates others overlook, and tenacious in follow-through
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail; able to manage multiple open roles across functions simultaneously
  • Clear, direct communicator in writing and conversation; able to sell a role to candidates and push back on hiring managers
