About the role

Senior in-house counsel leading Interface.ai's legal function, advising executive leadership, shaping legal strategy, and establishing scalable processes across privacy, compliance, contracts, and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate customer, vendor, reseller and data‑processing agreements.
  • Advise People Ops on hiring, terminations, equity grants and multi‑state compliance.
  • Build and run privacy / AI compliance program (GDPR, CCPA, FTC).
  • Prepare board consents, maintain cap‑table and support financings.
  • Manage outside counsel on IP, litigation and insurance claims.

Qualifications

  • JD or LL.B.; active bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 8–15 years combined law‑firm and in‑house experience with a proven record as a ‘department of one’.
  • Deep expertise in SaaS commercial contracts, employment law, data privacy (GDPR/CCPA) and corporate governance.
  • Hands‑on experience managing outside counsel and cross‑border issues (U.S./India preferred).
  • Business‑first communicator who can translate legal complexity into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Comfort leveraging generative‑AI tools and prompt engineering to scale legal processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage prompt engineering and generative-AI tools to accelerate legal workflows and reduce turnaround time.
