About the role

Experienced Platform & Infra software engineer to design, build, and operate the observability and platform tooling that underpin Abnormal AI’s production systems across multiple environments (US, EU, GovCloud).

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, and Product Manager to design, develop, and deliver key platform features — from technical design docs through production rollout

Qualifications

  • Backend Engineering & Distributed Systems (4+ years)
  • 4+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience designing, building, and operating production-grade distributed systems
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Working proficiency in Golang
  • Experience building systems that process data at scale
  • Demonstrated experience owning a service or platform end-to-end
  • Experience writing technical design documents
  • Experience with fault tolerance patterns
  • Proven incident response capability
  • Strong testing discipline
  • Ability to design with 10x growth and multi-region deployment in mind
  • Ability to influence cross-team technical direction
  • Async-first communication excellence
  • Proactive communicator
  • Solid understanding of monitoring, alerting, and observability principles
