About the role

Senior IC product design role focused on growth surfaces across onboarding, activation, billing, payments, and pricing to drive activation, conversion, and retention for developers using Render’s cloud platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design the journey from first touch to paying customer as one connected system (onboarding, activation, upgrade, billing).
  • Own billing, payments, and pricing as craft surfaces (plans, usage, invoices, upgrade/downgrade, payment methods, dunning, pricing page).
  • Design first-run/activation experiences to drive onboarding and long-term use.
  • Run validation and experimentation with user testing, interviews, and A/B testing; treat shipped data as the basis for decisions.
  • Move fast across a wide surface, shipping incrementally while maintaining quality standards.
  • Partner across product, engineering, data, marketing, and finance to align stakeholders on pricing and revenue.
  • Contribute to design-led discovery track and influence future Growth direction.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience designing for developers or technical users (developer tools, cloud infrastructure, APIs, or similar).
  • Exceptional taste and craft at speed with a high standard for detail.
  • Fluency in both validation and experimentation (user testing, interviews, experiments).
  • Rigorous approach to complex, high-stakes flows (billing, payments, pricing, edge cases).
  • Strong information architecture and ability to design coherent journeys, not just screens.
  • Understanding of how developers think and get billed; familiarity with usage-based, resource-metered billing is a plus.
  • Strong product judgment under fast launch velocity.
  • Clear, direct communication and collaborative working style with cross-functional partners.
