About the role

Senior Software Engineer specializing in React Native, focused on Repayment UX. Remote in Spain. Part of a Europe-based, time-zone aligned, Agile full-stack team building and maintaining the mobile experience for repayment UX at Affirm.

Responsibilities

  • Owning and delivering quarterly goals for the team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems, and ensuring delivery support.
  • Collaborating with product management, design & analytics throughout the product development lifecycle by ideation, articulating technical constraints, and weighing risks and trade-offs.
  • Proactively identifying project, process, technology or business issues, advocating for and leading solutions.
  • Supporting operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating as needed, and supporting on-call efforts.
  • Fostering a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards and evangelizing them beyond the team via writing and tech talks.
  • Developing talent on the team by providing feedback and guidance, leading by example.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience developing and architecting mobile applications, preferably using declarative UI frameworks like React Native.
  • Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, or track record of working with similar languages and learning new technologies.
  • Experience defining a technical plan for delivering a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple and extensible design.
  • Proficient at making significant changes in a large codebase, with tools and practices to do so safely.
  • Experience taking ownership of personal growth, proactively seeking feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
