About the role

Cloud Security-focused software engineer role developing containerized microservices for a distributed multi-tenant system, primarily using Go, Kubernetes, and data pipelines to provide real-time cloud security insights and recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop containerized (micro) services for a distributed multi-tenant system processing data and real-time events and network telemetry from multiple public clouds to provide real-time insights, visibility, and security recommendations to customers.
  • Design service architecture, defend designs, and deliver robust implementations.
  • Mentor junior engineers, new grads, and interns.
  • Code primarily in Go and work with data pipelines using SQL or equivalent interfaces; leverage Kubernetes for service infrastructure.
  • Own critical features and subsystems across the software development lifecycle, from requirements to deployment and usage by customers.
  • Own operational aspects of the system to understand real-world challenges and improve software quality.
  • Maintain code quality with early testing and functional/integration testing to build robust products.
  • Partner with Product Management to refine requirements beyond customer expectations.
  • Develop deep understanding of customer problems through stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent degree. Master’s degree a plus
  • 2+ years building distributed & scalable software and systems
  • Passion for software development, continuous learning, and teamwork
  • AWS / Azure / GCP cloud experience: extensively used one of these platforms at the API/programming level; networking and security controls a plus
  • Kubernetes-based platform experience; containerized service delivery desired
  • Go and SQL experience; REST API client experience
  • CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible are nice to have
  • General TCP/IP networking knowledge
  • Unix/Linux programming environment experience
