About the role

Software Engineer focused on building containerized microservices for a distributed multi-tenant cloud security platform, primarily using Go and SQL, with Kubernetes-based infrastructure. On-site role based in Sunnyvale, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop containerized (micro) services for a distributed multi-tenant system that process data and real time events and network telemetry from multiple public clouds to provide real time insights, visibility, and security recommendations to customers so they can identify and minimize risk in the cloud.
  • Design service architecture, defend the design/architecture, and deliver robust implementations.
  • Mentor junior engineers, new-grads, and interns to help them grow as engineers.
  • Write code in Go and work with data pipelines using SQL or other interfaces; leverage Kubernetes for service infrastructure.
  • Own critical features and subsystems and manage the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment and usage by customers.
  • Own operational aspects of the system, gaining firsthand understanding of operating such systems to write better, more supportable software.
  • Own code quality through early testing and integration testing to build robust products.
  • Partner with Product Management to refine requirements that exceed customer expectations.
  • Develop deep understanding of customer problems through stakeholder interaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent degree (Master’s a plus)
  • 2+ years building distributed & scalable software and systems
  • Passion for software development and willingness to continuously learn in a team setting
  • Cloud experience on AWS / Azure / GCP, with API/programming level usage on at least one platform
  • Experience with networking and security controls is a plus
  • Experience delivering a containerized service on a Kubernetes-based platform
  • Go and SQL experience
  • REST API client experience
  • CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible are nice to have
  • General TCP/IP networking knowledge
  • Unix/Linux programming environment experience
