About the role

Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to build and own the financial models powering decision-making at a fast-scaling, AI-first healthcare technology company. Reports to the CFO. Role combines fundraising, M&A support, long-range forecasting, revenue recognition, and cross-functional partnership in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Immediate Priority: Budget & Forecast Automation - redesign and automate budgeting/forecasting process; evaluate and implement FP&A/planning tools; leverage AI tools to automate modeling and reporting.
  • Strategic Forecasting & Financial Modeling (35%) - lead corporate-wide planning, budgeting, and long-range forecasting; maintain core financial model capturing success-fee contracts, at-risk revenue, multi-year partnerships and SaaS metrics; provide CFO with analysis on strategic decisions; surface insights and manage risks.
  • Fundraising & M&A Support (25%) - build fundraising materials and investor models; lead financial diligence and integration modeling for M&A; deliver board/investor-ready analyses; support cap table and capital structure planning.
  • Revenue Recognition & Commercial Finance Operations (25%) - partner on ASC 606 revenue recognition for multi-element contracts; own ARR tracking and reporting; collaborate on quote-to-cash processes; ensure data accuracy and controls across revenue operations.
  • Reporting, Systems & Cross-Functional Partnership (15%) - produce timely, accurate BVA analyses; improve reporting infrastructure and dashboards with AI; build relationships with Sales, Product, Engineering, and People & Culture to position Finance as a collaborative partner.

Qualifications

  • 6-10+ years of progressive finance experience in demanding, high-accountability environments (investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, or specialty/credit lending) with successful transition to an operating company
  • Advanced financial modeling and diligence skills; ability to build complex three-statement models or scenario analyses under time pressure
  • Hands-on experience automating budgeting/forecasting processes; experience evaluating/selecting FP&A tools; use of AI tools like Claude
  • Demonstrated ability to self-teach quickly with at least one hard pivot in career
  • AI-first mindset with active daily use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate modeling and reporting
  • Strong business acumen; ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Comfort with ambiguity and evolving business model; energized by redesigning revenue mechanics
